After serving six years in the US Army, including a tour in Vietnam, Pete Maddox, CEO of Commerce Technologies LLC, began his career as a Business Development Consultant, developing strategic plans, and handling the start-up and expansion of local, national and international companies.
In the late 1980’s, Pete was selected to plan the expansion of American Speedy Printing Services, the nation’s fastest growing quick print franchise, to California. His strategic marketing plan reduced the company's marketing budget by 60%, yet established California as the top sales territory in the US. After leading the company’s successful expansion to Japan and Europe, Pete moved on to establish a commuter airline at Orange County Airport and an international shipping company before launching his IT Products and Services Company in 1989. Today, Pete’s client list includes one of his first clients, a company he has served for over 21 years. He has provided IT products and services to the Chamber of Commerce in Orange for the last 17 years, and the majority of his clients have been with him for an average of 14 years. During this time, he has expanded Commerce Technologies LLC to include custom software development, his patented Clean-Aire Computer Enclosures™, and the user-friendly DataSave™ Backup program for desktops.
Pete’s approach to his clients is that of a strategic business partner. He views technology as an investment with a quantifiable ROI through increased productivity and efficiency. His dedication to his clients and his practice of always working in their best interest, was featured in Orange County Register Business Columnist Jan Norman’s book, “Marketing Your Own Business” as, “The Very Foundation of Marketing”.
Pete is also an active member of his community, having served on the Board of Trustees for the Rancho Santiago Community College District, and on the Board of Directors for numerous non-profit organizations, including the YMCA of Orange, The Dayle McIntosh Center and the Orange County Community Development Council. A member of the Orange Chamber of Commerce for 17 years, Pete also serves on the Economic Development Committee, a joint committee of the Chamber and the City of Orange, and is a member of the Chamber's Chairman Circle.
